LiftVerifyA Timestep Engineering service

A Timestep Engineering service

AS 4991 lifting-device verification by analysis

LiftVerify provides independent third-party design analysis under Clause 12.3(b)(i), often used in lieu of physical proof loading, avoiding the time, cost and coordination of craneage, test weights or water bags, rigging and specialist personnel.

Standard assessment: A$2,450 + GST

Target outcome within 5 business days after complete project information and written scope acceptance.

A practical alternative to proof-load testing

Independent analysis can avoid the time, cost and site coordination of a physical proof-load setup — craneage, test weights or water bags, rigging and specialist test personnel — for lifting devices where the analysis pathway is appropriate.

What the standard assessment includes

  • The agreed load cases and operating configurations.
  • FEA and/or engineering calculations for the accepted scope.
  • Signed compliance letter when the analysis demonstrates compliance.

Standard assessment: A$2,450 + GST. Target outcome within 5 business days after complete project information and written scope acceptance.

If the device does not comply

If the analysis does not demonstrate compliance, no compliance letter is issued. You receive a written reason identifying the controlling issue, together with practical advice on possible next steps. Redesign and further analysis are separately quoted.

Experience

16+ years’ experience.

Timestep has completed third-party AS 4991 analyses and load-restraint certifications for Australian industrial projects, including repeat AS 4991 verification engagements.

How it works

  1. Step 1

    Send a short project enquiry.

  2. Step 2

Timestep confirms suitability, inputs and a written fixed scope.

  3. Step 3

    Independent engineering analysis is completed.

  4. Step 4

You receive the written outcome for the accepted scope.

Suitability for the analysis pathway is confirmed during scope review before any fixed quotation is issued.

Additional services available

  • Original lifting-device design.
  • Fabrication drawings.
  • Redesign and reanalysis.
  • Fabrication or drawing review.
  • Parent-structure assessment.
  • Proof-test planning or supervision.
  • Other separately agreed engineering services.

These are quoted separately from the standard AS 4991 verification assessment.

Need a custom lifting device designed?

Timestep Engineering can also quote the engineering design, analysis and fabrication-drawing package for custom lifting devices, including lifting beams, spreader beams, lifting frames, lifting lugs, handling devices and other custom below-the-hook equipment.

Original design is a separate scope of work, separately quoted, and is not included in the A$2,450 standard verification assessment.

Frequently asked questions

What information do you need to quote?
Enough to define the device and its use: device type and nominated working load limit, drawings or usable geometry, materials and connection details, load cases and operating configurations, project location and desired timing. Existing calculations can help but are not required.
Does verification by analysis replace physical proof loading?
For suitable lifting devices, independent design analysis under Clause 12.3(b)(i) can serve as the alternative-verification pathway in lieu of physical proof loading. Suitability is confirmed during scope review before quoting.
What do I receive?
For the agreed scope you receive the completed engineering analysis (FEA and/or calculations) and, when the outcome is compliant, a signed compliance letter for the defined device, WLL and configurations.
What happens if the device does not comply?
No compliance letter is issued. You receive a written statement of the controlling issue and practical advice on possible next steps. Redesign and further analysis are separately quoted.
Can Timestep design the device?
Yes. Timestep can quote original lifting-device design, analysis and fabrication drawings as a separate scope of work.
Do you work Australia-wide?
Yes. Enquiries are accepted Australia-wide; project location is collected so registration and project requirements can be checked before quoting.
